 Crafted from an outstanding harvest, the 2018 is a delicate Pinot Noir, aged in French Oak, with the perfect balance of acidity and light tannins.

Hailed as a season of near-perfect conditions, summer 2018 produced some remarkable wines. Our 2018 Pinot Noir is a benchmark of this exceptional harvest.

Harvested from our vineyard in Wiltshire, this wine pairs perfectly with duck and lamb, or simply enjoy on its own. We recommend to serve this wine on the colder side of room temperature. Some English red wines offer a better taste when served chilled and this wine is no exception to that. However, if you prefer your wine wines on the warmer side this wine can do either.

HARVEST DETAILS Picked from our Maud Heath and Hoplands block on south facing slope with chalk and loamy soils. Single Guyot trellis system with 4,100 vines per hectare. Most of these vines are 12-15 years old and we hand pick all of our grapes. The 2018 harvest produced an average sized crop with good ripeness and crisp acidity.

 

About the producer

Whitehall Farm has been the family home to the Self family for five generations. Their history of growing and farming has naturally evolved into a desire to produce premium English still wines. 

Whitehall Vineyard was established in 2017 and lies on the rich, fertile soils of the Avon Valley, with a favourable aspect and an underlying bedrock of permeable limestone. 

This terroir is perfect for growing Rondo, ‘Bacchus’, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, the basis of all Whitehall wines.
